Jodi oversees our Pataskala boarding facility and grooming services. With over a decade of grooming and kennel experience, she brings care, precision, and a calming presence to each grooming appointment. Outside of work, she trains and competes with her horse Moonshine and cheers on the Buckeyes.

Dr. Jon S. Laing
DVM
Dr. Laing graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and took over RCVS in 2015. He specializes in farm and large-animal medicine and is our chief orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Laing is also involved with local humane societies, supporting spay/neuter initiatives. At home, he and his wife, Sue, share a lively household with their daughters, pets, and a flock of egg-laying ducks.
Dr. Samantha Coe, DVM
DVM
A former RCVS veterinary assistant, Dr. Coe earned her DVM from The Ohio State University in 2011 and became co-owner in 2017. Her areas of expertise include ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and complex internal medicine cases. She’s also building skills in pocket pet care. Dr. Coe founded the Refugee Canyon Foundation to provide veterinary support to underserved populations.
Dr. Michelle Kozel
DVM
A 1992 OSU graduate and longtime friend of Dr. Laing, Dr. Kozel has a passion for preventative care, nutrition, and animal behavior. When not in the clinic, she enjoys reading, riding her horses, and spending time outdoors with her family and pets in Johnstown.
Dr. Andrew Sattler
DVM
Dr. Sattler joined RCVS in 2021, bringing a molecular biology background and a 1998 DVM from OSU. He lives with his adopted pup Archie and enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking and canoeing, along with cooking and relaxing with a good book.
Dr. Karli Collins
DVM
A St. George’s University graduate, Dr. Collins interned with RCVS before vet school and officially joined the team in 2023. She enjoys developing relationships with pets and their families. Outside work, she spends time with her husband Alex and their growing pet family, traveling, baking, and watching football.
Dr. Mackenzie Holmes
Associate Veterinarian, DVM
Dr. Mickenzie Holmes joined our Veterinary Team in 2025 and brings experience in mixed animal medicine and assists with Ambulatory Truck calls.
After graduating in 2019 from the University of Florida with her BS in Animal Sciences, she went to the University of Missouri, graduating from their College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Holmes lives near Zanesville with her two fluffy cats, Oliver and Ophelia. She works hard to maintain client relationships through compassionate care and diagnostics for their pets. Dr. Holmes is excited to advance her passions in small animal dentistry, diagnostic ultrasounds, and large animal care in our Clinic.
When at home, Dr. Holmes enjoys baking sweet treats, playing video games, or reading a good book. When feeling adventurous, she loves to go hiking and camping. She’s been to over a dozen National Parks, but her goal is to visit every US National Park. In the fall, she’s an avid football fan and probably one of the only locals cheering for the Florida Gators during college games or the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

RVT & Practice Manager
Brittany earned her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Kent State University, Tuscarawas in 2011. As our Practice Manager, she ensures smooth clinic operations while offering compassionate care to every pet. She lives with her husband, two daughters, and four beloved cats.
Sarah
RVT
A 2021 Columbus State Community College graduate, Sarah started her career with RCVS as an intern. She shares her home with three dogs and two cats and stays active with 4-H, both as a participant and advisor. In her free time, she enjoys reading and family activities.
Mickenzie
RVT
Mickenzie earned her Veterinary Technology degree from Columbus State in 2023 after working at RCVS since 2020. She assists in surgery, lab, and pharmacy, and contributes to the clinic’s Facebook presence. She and her fiancé live with their pets and enjoy renovating their home.
Kate
RVT
Graduating summa cum laude in 2023 from Columbus State, Kate is passionate about learning and even operates a ham radio. She lives with her orange tabby, Cheddar, and enjoys math, music, reading, and boating, with future dreams of learning pottery and joining a community band.

RVT
With a decade of experience, Dani graduated from Columbus State in 2014 and has worked in both emergency and general practice. She lives in Lancaster with her husband, three dogs, four cats, and formerly had pet rats. Her passions include hiking, yoga, and Disney trips.
Kole
RVT
A U.S. Army veteran and Columbus Zoo volunteer, Kole worked her way up in veterinary medicine over five years. She lives with her husband and has a vibrant household of pets. She enjoys video games, gardening, and DIY home projects.
Matthew
RVT
Matt brings over nine years of experience and helps at both RCVS locations. A former radio DJ, he now lives in Newark with his two Chihuahuas. He enjoys playing guitar in his band, video games, and supporting animal health through skilled, caring work.
Edwin
Assistant
Edwin studied veterinary medicine in Peru and worked at a hospital before moving to the U.S. in 2015. At RCVS, he continues to expand his knowledge, assisting with farm calls, surgeries, and appointments. He lives with his wife, twins, and three cats, and enjoys cooking, soccer, and raising quail.
Jamilya
Assistant
Jamilya works in both the Hebron and Pataskala clinics, assisting with surgeries, appointments, and customer service. A Heath High School graduate, she loves spending time with her two long-haired dachshunds, Gilbert and Oswald, as well as relaxing with friends and family.

Assistant
Addie brings experience in animal research from OSU’s ULAR program. She lives on a mini-farm with her husband, baby, and a variety of animals. She enjoys hiking, camping, and crafting with her mom when she has spare time.

Originally a receptionist, Anna now assists in both RCVS clinics. A Newark native, she lives with her husband, dogs, and an orange cat named Castiel. She enjoys hiking, gardening, home improvement, and creating bee terrariums.

Returning to vet med after raising her children, Stephanie brings 10 years of experience and a calming presence. She lives with her family and two beagles, and enjoys painting, reading, and hiking in her spare time.

Jessie, who grew up around horses, is pursuing her master’s in veterinary medicine at OSU. With equine experience from the Galbreath Equine Center, she balances work with showing horses and caring for her large animal family.

With nearly 10 years of vet tech experience, Tarisha helps support smooth appointment flow at both locations. She lives with her daughter, Ryan, and spends time reading, painting, and tending to their plant collection.

Laura works part-time in our Hebron clinic and manages our website and social media. She lives on a small farm with goats, dogs, cats, and even a duck named Tyra Banks. In her downtime, she enjoys concerts, traveling, and rug-hooking.

With over 20 years in veterinary care, Chris joined our Hebron front desk team in 2023. She lives with her husband, four dogs, and eleven cats. She enjoys baking, collecting comics, and traveling with her husband to find unique cars to restore.
Nicole
Reception & Client Services
Nicole serves both Hebron and Pataskala as a client service representative. She shares her home with her partner, three daughters, and two rescue dogs. Her favorite pastime is spending warm days boating or kayaking with her family.
Julee
Reception & Client Services
Julee helps clients at both locations and supports 4-H programs with her family. She lives with her husband, three daughters, a wide array of pets — including rabbits, goats, and ducks — and enjoys helping with school events and family travel.

Alayna began working in our kennel during high school and now assists at the front desk during college breaks. She’s currently studying Animal Science at the University of Findlay and is raising a foster puppy training to become a service dog.

Kennel Technician
Sydni works at our Pataskala boarding facility and also helps on her family’s horse farm. She lives in Baltimore with a full household of pets and enjoys horseback riding and time outdoors.

Annika earned her B.S. in Evolution and Ecology from OSU in 2024. She helps care for boarding pets and lives with three cats. She enjoys reading, hiking, and time with loved ones.

Erin keeps our Hebron clinic sparkling clean and loves visiting with our feline patients. She’s a proud pet mom to a King Charles Spaniel and three cats, and enjoys baking and movie nights with family.
Tanner
Surgical Cleaning Assistant
Tanner ensures our surgical spaces and equipment stay spotless. Passionate about animal welfare, he also volunteers with the local police and donates proceeds from handmade bookmarks to Licking County Humane Society. He enjoys music, CrossFit, and spending time on the farm.
Carrots
CEO
Carrots, our one-eyed orange tabby, has been our beloved clinic cat since 2014. Rescued after an accident, he now oversees daily operations with unmatched charm and purr-sonality, offering snuggles and comfort to staff and visitors alike.

Scottie was rescued as an injured kitten in 2024 and now helps Carrots with daily clinic morale. Though shy with strangers, she’s full of sass and sweetness with her team, bringing joy and play to the office every day.
